Browser-Based Calculators for Licensing and Usage Costs

Before a renewal, a migration or a billing change, the question is always the same: what will this cost us, and what breaks if we change it? ReleaseTEAM builds small, focused tools that answer that from your own GitLab or Atlassian exports. Everything runs in your browser, your file never leaves the tab, and there is nothing to install or upload.

GitLab

GitLab pricing turns on three numbers most teams do not track until renewal: seat true-ups, GitLab Duo credit burn, and pipeline rules:if logic that can skip a stage without anyone noticing. These three tools work from your own GitLab exports. All GitLab tools →

GitLab Credits Planner

Projects seat true-up exposure, renewal cost and GitLab Duo credit burn-down before your next term.

What you need: your license and seat details; exports are optional.

GitLab Rule Checker

Check a project’s rules:if logic for the conditions that silently never run.

What you need: your project’s .gitlab-ci.yml file.

GitLab CI Script Linter

Run ShellCheck over your .gitlab-ci.yml scripts before a pipeline fails on them.

What you need: your project’s .gitlab-ci.yml file.

Atlassian

Atlassian Data Center reaches end of life on March 28, 2029, Automation now bills per step instead of per rule, and licensed seats often sit inactive for months before anyone reclaims them. These three tools work from your own Atlassian exports. All Atlassian tools →

Atlassian Automation Step Estimator

Estimate what your Jira and Confluence automation will cost once Atlassian bills per step.

What you need: your exported Automation rules (Jira or Confluence admin export).

Atlassian Cloud Migration Readiness Checker

See which Marketplace apps have an automated path to Cloud before you commit to a migration.

What you need: your installed-apps list from a Data Center admin.

Atlassian Inactive License Reclaimer

Find billable seats that have gone quiet and see what reclaiming them could save before renewal.

What you need: your user or seat export from an Atlassian admin.

AI Coding Assistants

GitHub Copilot moved to usage-based AI Credits in June 2026, and GitLab Duo Agent Platform bills in GitLab Credits. Seat prices tell you less than they used to. This estimator gives a rough monthly range; our AI Spend Review gives the real one.

AI Coding Assistant Cost Estimator

Estimate the monthly cost of GitHub Copilot or GitLab Duo now that both bill for usage: seat cost plus a credit and overage range.

What you need: your developer count and platform. Nothing to upload.

Built by ReleaseTEAM, Kept on Your Side of the Browser

Licensing exports list your users, your automation rules and your usage, so these tools were built so none of it has to leave your machine. Every file is read inside your browser tab, and each tool’s Content-Security-Policy blocks the page from sending your data anywhere, including to us. There is no login, no email gate and no upload.

ReleaseTEAM is an Atlassian Gold Solution Partner and a GitLab Select Partner with certified experts on staff. We resell, implement and support both platforms, so the questions these tools answer come straight from customer conversations about renewals, seat counts and usage-based billing. When a result looks surprising, or you want a second opinion before you sign, our licensing specialists will review it with you at no charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the tools free?

Yes. There is no charge, no account and no email address required to use any of these tools.

How accurate are the estimates?

They are as accurate as the exports and prices you give them. Where you do not enter your own figures, the tools use the vendor’s published allowances and list prices, and they show what drives each number so you can check it. Treat the results as planning estimates, not a quote.

Do I need admin access?

For the Automation Step Estimator, the Migration Readiness Checker and the Inactive License Reclaimer, yes: exporting automation rules, an installed-apps list or a user export all need Jira, Confluence or Atlassian admin rights. The GitLab Credits Planner works from details you type in, and its optional exports need GitLab administrator or billing account access.

Will you add more tools?

We add tools to this page as we build them. If there is a licensing or usage question you would like a tool for, tell us.

Want a Second Opinion on the Numbers?

Bring your results to a licensing specialist. We will check the assumptions, look for seats and usage you can reclaim, and put the renewal figures in writing before you commit.
