Dear Reader,

In this challenging economy of market highs and lows, it can be difficult to manage the growth of American organizations while not falling victim to the lulls in economic activity. How can a company hire and retain high quality personnel during times of growth, and not be forced to lay off these resources when the times get tight? The answer is simple- Hire consultants. By using the power of consultant labor forces, your company can remain competitive without breaking the bank. Consultant staffers, because of their diverse professional experience, often possess a wealth of knowledge that can exceed that of your company's regular employees; and it can be utilized without having to pay employment taxes or provide benefits.

The new concern in this volatile economy is the ability to be lean and flexible, in order to better meet the fluctuating demands for your products and services. Don't be held hostage by the practice of hiring staff when growth is present, and laying off workers during a slow down. Use ReleaseTEAM consultants to staff your Software Configuration Management initiatives. ReleaseTEAM can lower your costs while increasing the return on your investment for SCM projects. Since 1999, ReleaseTEAM has provided premium SCM consulting services to our clients. Don't get lost in the swirl of hiring and firing, let ReleaseTEAM handle all your SCM needs and watch your projects get completed on time and under budget.

CM Crossroads

What does it mean to be process oriented? I have had many times when a colleague patiently explained to me that his group's process is to do one thing or another. The only problem is that I quickly ascertained that there really was no "process" in place at all. My colleague was really trying to tell me how his team was working. Now defining a process is not always necessary or even valuable at times. I shocked a colleague recently when I argued that a checklist was better than defining a process for some tasks. His expression of shock and dismay indicated that I had suddenly become a heretic in his eyes. Read on if you would like to understand what processes are all about and when it is appropriate to use them.

AccuRev-ReleaseTEAM Joint Webinar

AccurevlogoThu, Mar 12, 2009 1:00 PM EDT

Developing ever more complex software products faster, better and cheaper requires the adoption of distributed development, parallel development, and multiple development processes. Most software configuration management strategies and tools buckle under the strain of these new requirements.

With AccuRev, organizations can choose to use a mature, professional SCM tool that features an existing integration with other software development tools and all the ease of use and functionality required to manage the most complex development scenarios, such as geographically distributed development, managing multiple releases in parallel or multiple processes (Agile, Scrum, XP, RUP, Lean) as teams grow or turn over.

Join us for this Webinar and you will see:

· Use case scenarios and best practice examples of managing development processes across heterogeneous environments

· A demonstration of how easy it is to introduce AccuRev into a ClearCase environment, while preserving your investment in scripts, builds, tests, and other elements of the software development lifecycle

· How to automate processes that are currently manual and therefore more error-prone
