ReleaseTEAM to Deliver Expertise for IBM Rational 7.1 Upgrades Presenting Premium Consulting Services Designed to Support Installation/Upgrade of IBM Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest 7.1 - 29 April 2009

The IBM Rational suite of tools now uses the installation tools and methodology common across IBM, the IBM Installation Manager. For IBM Rational Tools users, especially ClearCase and ClearQuest users, this means adopting a new technology and a significant change away from the familiar siteprep. Westminster, CO - ReleaseTEAM, Inc. the Software Configuration Management specialists, has announced the release of the latest version of ClearConn. ClearConn 2.5 is a custom integration between IBM Rational's ClearCase and ClearQuest. ClearConn is an add-on application that allows for streamlined sharing of information between ClearCase and ClearQuest. ClearConn is an easy to install and configure utility that will provide speed and robustness that is superior to out of the box integration tools.

ClearConn is a two tier, client-server approach that both gathers relevant information and greatly reduces elapsed time at checkout, uncheckout and checkin operations. The client side of ClearConn gathers the ClearCase information it needs to store in ClearQuest and saves it as an attribute in ClearCase. The server side searches all of the designated ClearCase VOBs for the attribute and records the information in ClearQuest. ClearConn easily manages the integration of information from ClearCase VOBs to any ClearQuest database.

ClearConn has been developed using best practices learned from implementing custom integration solutions for IBM Rational's ClearCase and ClearQuest. Software development groups have many different requirements for integrations between source code control tools and change and defect tracking tools. ClearConn takes into account this wide variety of requirements, and is very configurable. ClearConn has been developed for high performance, ClearConn will not slow down ClearCase.
