Sun, 08 Mar 2009WatchmenPosted to Movies categorySaw Watchmen yesterday. Great movie, I won't spoil it for folks who haven't seen it yet. I will talk about the music.I liked the music. It was all stuff I listen to, most of it is on my mp3 player. Mindy mentioned it didn't seem to fit. I think I agree with her. From what I recall here is the list of songs and roughly the scene they were in.
Song of Silence - Comedian Funeral "Hallelujah" is the one I think was most misplaced. To me this song will be forever tied up with Shrek. Next Jimi Hendrix's version of "All along the watchtower" while I thought it sounded great, having it blast out of the theaters speakers during the owl's ships flight across the frozen ocean, didn't really feel like it made sense. The others didn't seem completely out of place, and the three songs, "the Sounds of Silence", "Ride of the Valkyries" and "The Times They Are A-Changin", were used in cliche type situations. Re: Watchmen Judy works at Lowes theater in Methuen, she took us all to to see the midnite premiere last week. It was so busy, they had to open a second theater for the overflow. It was nerd paradise, costumes the whole works. I even had two "comic book guys" sitting in front of me. (they did not say "Worst watchman movie ever!") It was a great movie with one exception. Dr Manhattan needs pants. Nothing makes me feel quite as inadequate as a 50ft tall blue guy coming at me with no pants on. ReplyYour Comment |
