Mask and Monocle

Posted to Home category
I've been wearing the CPAP mask at night now for a couple weeks. I haven't been able to wear it all night yet. Usually around 2 hours I wake up and take it off. I have noticed the nights I wear it, yeah I've skipped a few, I feel great in the morning,

The difference is amazing, when I don't wear it I wake up groggy, grumpy, unmotivated to do much. When I wear it, even for only 2 hours, I wake up refreshed, full of energy, can't wait to rush out the door and accomplish stuff. I haven't felt that good since high school.

The mask is a keeper, and I'm working on trying to wear it longer each night. This week, I was sick and in bed most of the week. I didn't wear the mask much. Thursday night I started feeling better and put the mask on before going to bed, thinking if I wore it while watching TV maybe I can become more comfortable with it. Problem is, the mask to too large and I can only see the TV with one eye at a time. The mask is also large and bulky enough I can't put my glasses on, and while I have a 43" TV in my bedroom, I still need my glasses.

A short time later, a pair of my old glasses, a chopstick and some electric tape... and I had a monocle. Works great! I have to hold the chopstick about 3" out from the mask for the TV to be in focus and I look like an idiot but I'm wearing the mask for about an hour longer each night now, from the start of the 10:00 news to just after Jay's monolog. I'm still waking up around 1am and taking the mask off, but it's progress it the right direction.
